Ballroom Dancing is a broad term that covers both the traditional ‘Ballroom’ dances and ‘Latin American’

‘Ballroom’ dances are partner dances in a traditional hold, moving across the floor in a fluid manner – these include: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz and Quickstep.

‘Latin American’ is full of hip movements and attitude.  Latin dances include: Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doblé and Jive

Beginner

You’ve never danced before? Think you have two left feet? Always wanted to try it, but thought it was too hard?

Beginner level is for people who would like to try dancing for the first time. These classes are designed to have you moving around the floor easily within the first few weeks of the class. The classes will introduce you to the basic fundamentals of dancing that will make you feel comfortable to get up at parties, balls and weddings. Dancing is fantastic exercise, and will become very addictive before you know it!

You do not need to have a partner to attend this class.

Kids

Latin and Ballroom classes for boys and girls ages 6 – 13 years

Suitable for beginners, the classes incorporate Ballroom and Latin dancing, performance choreography and dance games.

Term based, the classes run in line with the Victorian School terms, breaking for holidays. Term fees and casual rates available.

You do not need to have a partner to attend this class.

Bridal Dance

We are famous for our Bridal Dance lessons – let our capable team take care of you!

Your first dance as a married couple is a traditional moment, filled with great expectations from your friends and family – enjoy the moment and look back on it fondly forever.

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and we will help to take away the stress of the situation with first class instruction from our team of professional instructors!  We will make you feel comfortable and confident in your dancing, by choreographing steps that will go perfectly with your chosen song.  Whether you are looking to do something simple to a song that has special meaning to you, or a more elaborate ‘bridal party’ routine, we can tailor this to your needs.

You will already have an idea of what song you want to use, however we can help guide you on song choice if you have a particular style of dance that you wish to do. We can also customise packages for other members of the bridal party, or for the Father/Daughter dance.

Lessons start at $80 for 45 minute lesson, and we also provide tailored packages:

Package A $190 for 3 x 45 minute lessons

Package B $350 for 6 x 45 minute lessons

Competition Private Lessons

We are experts in this field, providing coaching and tuition to beginner/first time competitors right through to Professionals on the world circuit.

Whether you’re just starting out, and need some extra personal tuition, or a high-level competitor trying to improve your technique, private lessons are the ideal way to accelerate your learning.

Our staff range from accomplished Amateur level champions, to multi-Australian Professional champions.  No matter what your level of experience, we have an instructor for you.

Private lessons are available by appointment only.

Competition Practice Classes

The original, and still the best – Ritz Ballroom offers a number of practice classes through out the week, catering to beginner/recreational competitors, right through to Professionals;

Wednesday – Ballroom/New Vogue 8pm, Latin 9.15pm

Friday – Latin only from 9pm (2018)

Saturday – Ballroom/New Vogue 2pm, Latin 3.15pm
